Predoctoral Fellowships

Each year CHI offers six yearlong predoctoral fellowships to graduate students currently enrolled at Penn State. Preference is given to students in the College of the Liberal Arts, though students from all colleges are welcome to apply. Normally to be eligible for support students must have passed their comprehensive exams. CHI welcomes collaborative applications, as well as applications from mixed teams of faculty members and graduate students.

Predoctoral Fellows participate in and present their work at the CHI lunch series; they do not teach. The stipend for 2015-16 is set at approximately $23,000, and is supplemented by a small research/travel fund. Applications for Predoctoral Fellowships are usually due in November.
